A Star Fell From The Sky Poem by Juan Olivarez

A Star Fell From The Sky

A star fell from the sky,
But I couldn't wish on it.
It fell too fast,
Into the sea.
And I couldn't think fast enough.
Now a days, you need to wish fast,
Because falling stars,
Are nuclear powered.
Not horse drawn,
Like in the olden days.
Now they drive around in their Bentleys,
And Porches, and Mercedes Benz's.
So when The star, Charlie Sheen,
Came up out of the water,
I thought, what the hell,
I'll give it a shot anyway.
But my wish didn't catch.
I think it just bounced off Charlie's head.
Oh well,
Maybe,
Ted Dansen will show up.
