A Slight Fever Poem by Maria Sudibyo

A Slight Fever

I feel uneasy with this feeling
My heart is exposed and it’s not me usually
I could blame it on the hot sun
I could blame it on the rain
But I won’t tell that it’s because of you

I’m caught in the wrong moment
My mask is dropped and it’s not me usually
I could blame it on the dust in my eyes
I could blame it on cold wind
But I won’t tell that it’s because of you

It’s just a slight fever
Makes me curling in the bed
Hardly to wake and weak
But I won’t sleep forever

It’s just a slight fever
Makes me walking in the dream
I should heal soon from this warmth
But I want to sleep for a while

I can’t say that I hate this feeling
But I don’t like it either
Makes me ignore anything else
And only pity my self

I can’t say that it’s your fault
But you should also responsible
You’ll never know my feeling
Unless you deserved for that

The world begins to spin in my eyes
My mind is fevered and it’s not me usually
I could blame it on stabbing words
I could blame it on bad joke
But I won’t tell that it’s because of you

It’s just a slight fever
Makes me aching with this warmth
But I will heal soon
Yeah, just sleep for a while
