A Salt Shaker For The Lord Poem by Luke Easter

A Salt Shaker For The Lord

What does it mean to move or to shake?
Not to become stagnant, do not hesitate,
Take the ordinary, spice it, make it great,
Giving the everyday life a Christian taste.

Matthew 5: 13, “You are the salt of the earth,
but if salt has lost its taste” what is it worth?
“To be thrown out and trampled underneath, ”
Not by just anything but under, “peoples feet.”

“Have salt in yourselves, at peace with one another, ”
Mark 9: 50, Colossians 4: 6, to answer your brother,
Leviticus 2: 13, salt shall be put on all of your grain,
Not this world’s but the biblical salt in Jesus’ name.

Used properly in winter salt can melt the thickest ice,
Just the right amount on food makes is twice as nice,
2 Kings 2: 21, “went to the spring, threw salt and said,
The Lord healed this water, no miscarriage, no dead.”

Good Hope Church: Mary, Lilly, Una, Jeanette & Jo,
Monday-Friday, are present to let summer kids know,
It’s a waste of time spending vacation at home board,
Proverbs 22: 6, raising, “A Salt Shaker For The Lord.”
