A River Story Poem by Gangadharan nair Pulingat..

A River Story

Thejaswini, the river I like you
Your blessings, curse, and dangerous flows
The heavy flood you frighten us
Through peaceful flow you blesses us
Thejaswini, I trace my ancestry along with you
Where my forefathers found a place to live
To silently meditate, cultivate, and ease living
Live like birds of same feather with others
Thejaswini, when I feel my ageing and agonies
I surrender before you with bowing head
Me a little human being allowed here
To rest in your valley with solitude
Thejaswini, where my ancestors have their own belief
Their own temples of worship with so many gods
And goddesses offering us soothing effect
Before advent of science that too modern way
They found their own little world as hunter gatherers
Not bothering to find their ancestry and start of life
It is here they found their heaven in the vast world
Where there were minimum quarrel for existence
After some time they forgot all when you are angry
Thejaswini, life goes fast that we feel.
