A Queen's Attention Poem by Natasha Andeyi

A Queen's Attention

Majority is a common vocabulary in her life's dictionary,
You'd want to do it first, but most already did.
Unless we're talking about your best, and even that might be basic to her normal self,
Very little surprises her, she's moved by few things.
This is not to excuse the pecuniary and only embrace your supposed intentions,
You wouldn't want to fool yourself that much.
After all, if it means something to you, it should cost you a thing or two,
Especially if that thing or two is all you've got.

Come forth with all that you've got,
Enlighten her of all that you are.
Give her much, but not all that you've got,
You'd not want to be a slave in the name of Love.

Forget the effect of your competition,
A real queen is sought after from every direction,
You're only dumb to think she'll ever lack the attention.
Don't mind the fools with their outward aggression, nor the proud with their egotistical actions.
Come forth with a gentle soul, humble mind and the Romeo kind of heart,
You may not win her over, but you'll certainly have her attention.
