A Piece Of Hair. Poem by Jodie Louise Pollock

A Piece Of Hair.

Her name I changed,
Her skin I changed,
Her hair she changed,
Her ways she changed.

Why she changed I do not know,
I do know why it hurts me though,
It hurts because I know what I once had,
Its hurts because my once good love is now bad,

She was everything to me,
She opened my eyes and helped me see,
She said she ‘loved me so much’,
But now she won’t come close enough to touch.

She used to understand,
Allow me to hold her hand.
She use to care and worry,
Now she rushes off, forever in a hurry.

It was only a name,
It was only a game,
It was only a piece of hair,
But it changed her world, and now she just doesn’t care.
