A Parent And A Friend Poem by Mark Dillon

A Parent And A Friend

Dealing with shocks and taking the knocks;
Looking for the match to
those multi-coloured socks.

Taking care of troubles,
filling their bath with bubbles.
Making them feel good with plenty of cuddles.

An ear for their fears,
A shoulder for their tears.
Lifting their spirits
with laughter and cheers.

Our prayers to keep them safe
from the wolf at the door.
To look out for them till
we can't do it anymore.
