A New Dance Poem by Carol Fleming Klein

A New Dance

Rating: 5.0

Forgive me Mother
forgive me Father
But the dance you wrote
and the choreography
You've supplied
is mostly all wrong.

The melody is filled
with too much discord
and the minor key doesn't suit
my dancing feet.

Forgive me now
if I turn my back
on the rhythm of years.

But we
the Lord and I
have improvisations
to write
A score to hear
with jubilation enough to suit
my dancing feet.
