A Mother's Love For Her Child Poem by Laquory Jones

I may never understand the love between a mother and her child
I wish I had that same love for my mother
But I'm not getting into that so no worries
But I'll explain to you what has occurred so my lines
Doesn't get blurred You see a mother love's for
Her children are unmeasured for children are her pride
Her Gems and treasures so when a mother came to me
Telling me of how her son almost had committed Suicide
This week I was at a lost for words but for her
To come to me I was left in disarray I'm just a young
Man just like him trying to live life problem-free
Though at times it seems life like that isn't
What it turns out to be I'm too learning but what's
Really discerning are my words that I try to express
Upon the surface sometimes it's truly concerning
How words can truly spread some of them can mean
Life or Death I haven't come to terms with them yet
I just can't forget how powerful we are
How words have taken us this far
From thoughts to thinking
To alleviating and saving

It's hard to believe when I was just a child
Trying to create a purpose I've too been
Hurting but it's good to save a life if you
Can at least try people will start to appreciate
You over time it seems the world could care-less
But I'm not done with it yet while replacing
Bullets with love we can make the world a
Better place while looking evil straight in its
Face no matter what race we have a task to help
Unmask and stand up for what we believe in
Because we each came into existence
To change the world in which we live-in
While breaking through barriers and ceilings
Together we can achieve this and whatever
You set your mind to success is bound to
Find you don't let others blind you
My words holds truth let me remind you
Who you truly are to me you are a superstar
Re-defining boundaries so no need to cry
No-one's aiming for suicide on my watch tonight
Because each one of you are top-notch
And the world deserves a shot
so give it all you got
