A Lucky Escape Poem by D.A. Woods

A Lucky Escape

Rating: 0.5

Come back here and see my face,
it's a laugh a minute in this place,
being a metaphor is so tame,
am an inferno.....watch my flames.

Why does it happen everytime,
being alone just does not rhyme,
it's not that I'm ugly or even sad,
should've been grateful for the things I had.

I'm a joker and thats the craic,
healing scars upon my back,
now I wish that you took me seriously,
instead of thinking what next will he say.

I once said you'll be by my side,
I once said for you I'd die,
I once said you'd be my wife,
I once drowned in your rip-tide.

Just the once! ! ! ! !
