A Loner Poem by Samkelo Dlamini

A Loner

Rating: 1.0

During the day, everyday
He interacts and engage with others,
Just like everybody else,
He talks, laugh, and sometimes crack a joke.

There is something about him though,
He gets intimidated and distraught too easily
He's got boundaries and conditions,
He lives by his own life principles
He is his 'own man',
But deep down in his heart he is gentle.

Deep down in his heart he is,
not that strict,
Not that 'stubborn' as sought to be
And absolutely not the 'serious' person as,
Judged to be or appears to be
He is not what he is labelled to be.

The truth about him is that he is more nicer as he appears to be,
More enthusiastic and pessimistic
More caring than it looks
The problem about him is that he is too kind,
And less cruel.

Being a loner is an English word he uses to label himself
As he thinks about being rejected by being different,
Criticized for standing out and being different
This society has always imposed pressure on him and he is hurt by it.
