A Little Air Poem by Kevin John Racaza

A Little Air

The two panels converge in the corner
And I just keep on staring at it
Waiting for somebody to tap me and say,
'What are you doing here, hey? '.

I know why I feel sad and tired.
It must have been because of you.
The promises you don't keep.
'Say you're sorry every time my heart weeps.

Maybe I just need a little air
To somehow lift my damp image up.
When things tend to switch track
And we both seem to fall back.

Oh please I know what you will say.
You will apologize for them again and again,
But the word has been used too much
That it no longer meant the way as such.

And again I say, 'I just need a little air'
To calm my heart that has gone shaky.
I somehow hope it will all work out just fine
And go back to when our hands first intertwined.
