A Life To Live Poem by Alyssa Rieper

A Life To Live

Rating: 0.5

Wouldn’t it be great
If we had a life we didn’t hate?
All our friends got along
And in our head a beautiful song
Hair of all colors, black, blonde and red
Without any science, social studies, or math
Angels flying above our heads
There was once a beautiful one that had said
“Fear not, child, for these are heaven’s gates,
For, beyond these, lies your fate.”
And then we would enter the church of God
Sing, dance, and worship in a big mob
Then Jesus would say, “I love you” to me
I’d thank him so much for setting my free
He would just smile as he takes me in his arms
Deep inside his loving charm
Oh, how great it would be
Up in heaven, where there is no fee
But, for now, we are here on earth
And the Godliest place we can be is church
But over all the sin and grief here
There are people who are very dear
I’m glad to live with God’s disciples
When I miss him, I’ll just open the Bible
