To My Wife

I never knew you would be in my life,
The month of April, when your life began.
The month of April, it was the forth,
You were placed on earth and given life

April eighteenth The year Fifty-eight,
I was eighteen and you were seventeen
the twenty-fifth The Prom, we fell in love,
I knew that moment, you would be my mate

We walked the aisle, you became my wife,
It was April twenty first, the year sixty two
time has passed, our family has grown
The month of April has been our life

For fifty-eight years, the love of my life,
five years you fought, that was my wife
April has come, the twenty-second,
You left me today, The love of my life

I often wander, why it had to be,
The cancer won, you fought it well
You'veleft me now, you are at peace,
Now an angel, I knew it would be

You left me here, it will never be
The memories left, will always stay,
What you taught me, will always be
To live my life, the only way

You fought the battle, for a long five years
You never surrendered, it wasn't in you
You always knew, what life was about,
The love of family, through all our tears

I must live on, to full fill my life
With happiness, as you wished
A smile on your face, and looking down
I will always love you, my sweet dear wife
