A Fading Dream Poem by Kat Sistrunk

A Fading Dream

All I see when I close my eyes is his face
So perfect like a fallen angel
But when I open them he fades in my mind
Like a dream long forgotten
Again and again I see hem walking down the street
Passing me like he doesn’t even know me
I look at him thinking maybe he would just smile a little
Again nothing
I walk home alone again
He rides past me not even stopping to say hi or ask If I can have a ride
I stop looking at him going off in the distance
Like the fading dream
But I didn't know I should of kept moving like nothing has ever happened
Now I see a light
I fall deep asleep
But now I’m walking right beside him
And see there’s sadness everywhere
Then I hear him say “I should of given her a ride”
