A Distant Memory Poem by Jayne Louise Davies

A Distant Memory

Rating: 5.0

We gazed upon the daisies
Beneath the summer sky,
Relishing the moment
As butterflies danced by.

A moment of my childhood
That seems so long ago,
But yes i still remember,
Those places we did roam.

Upon the valley mountain
We'd look to yonder far,
In the days of mines and coal,
Not many owned a car.

The village streets then bustling
The sounds of laughter heard,
For children shared the sunshine,
Together, as free as a bird.

Oh how i wish to go back,
To those long lost days,
The memory's in my heart and soul,
Forever there to stay.

Childhood is mostly the best part of our life. Crimeless moment, moment of togetherness.
