A Distance Wish Poem by Naseeru Taneemu Annuree

A Distance Wish

My heart is heavy with sorrows
I can't explain it anymore
Missing a girl I've never met,
Is like a distance wish
She don't really even know who I am,
But I care for her all the same
She never even heard my voice,
But I've heard her own through my heartbeats.
She never even read my poems,
But I've seen her poetic mind.
On the love she painfully lost
I've never even gazed into her eyes,
Or watched her walking round Samaru campus.
I worry about her,
About the lost of her love;
And about the distance between me and her
Now that I'm alone.
I wish she is with me,
To help me be strong.
To renew that passions in me
Passions of life and love,
That I would be great.
Wealthy or not,
I know she will care for me,
Care so gentle and cool
These sweet feelings I have for her,
Seem like my mission in life.
The vision will last long
Or maybe I should say forever and ever,
But I'm not actually in love,
I guess I'll keep waiting for her,
Behind every beats of my heart
And I know one day she will be mine
When destiny joins our hearts
Into a single flesh and blood....
