A Day And A Life Poem by Mallory Horne

A Day And A Life

There is a meaning to the way of my words,
Just listen and for once he'll be heard,
Ignored and lost is what he feels,
Alone in this world and orced to deal,
With the hardships of life.

They say it's unfair, Of how she breaths air,
Now so peacifully, never without doubt,
That you can take pride in that with a shout,
She'll hear you, she always does,
You never even see hear that's what your eyes show,

A soldier as another statistic,
No name nor rank, his mood so apathetic,
Risking everything for their freedom,
Yet he'll never even make it to the kingdom.

Death surrounds her everyday,
People all unable to pay,
For the person who saves their lives,
They are far too busy running around with their knifes.

Pain is overcome by fear,
He probably won't make it to next year,
Leaving his wife and children,
Just as he was when he was a kid to survive in a den.

Twenty lives saved today and only fourteen lost,
She finally understands what is the cost,
To enter that thing known as heaven,
After years upon years of being a craven.
