A Contact Lost Out There Poem by Ray Hansell

A Contact Lost Out There

Rating: 5.0

Here I am trying
So hard to understand
Why, now you ignore
Emails from this man

If I remember correctly
You made first contact
I have the emails
To prove this as a fact

I used to get excited
Looking forwards to your words
Your words would sing to me
Like listening to the birds

Your words were always poignant
They went right to the heart
Most times it always seems
They hit their target like a dart

I really find it sad
To lose this contact
Maybe it's like this
Because it's just abstract

But, there are no ill feelings
Because, I've enjoyed it so much
That's why it bothers me
To see us lose touch

But I only wish the best for you
In all of your endeavors
Please, keep on writing
Because your poems are so clever

So, if this is goodbye
I say it with a smile
I had a wonderful time
Though, only for a short while

Everything that we shared
Stays locked inside of me
I told you from the beginning
That's the way it would always be

No one will ever know
The words and thoughts we write
But people wouldn't understand
All things are not black and white

We think a little deeper
We say a little more
We open up our souls
We bare them to the core

So some will think we say too much
But I don't think that's true
We're letting out emotions
Sharing them all with you
