A Cold Day In Summer Poem by Muhammad Umair

A Cold Day In Summer

Dancing clouds faced my home
In the midst of the summer;
With them, came the brightest breeze,
No kidding---it felt like a new-comer.

The long drought of my dreary home
Seemed to end with this rare rain;
The raindrops fell everywhere just to tell:
No sown seed of yours would go in vain.

After almost what felt like a lifetime,
Everyone's face wore a feeling of delight;
The daffodils were dancing with the breeze,
The children contentedly; their faces---bright.

The unprecedented weather transitioned
The melancholy to ecstasy;
That cold day in summer was always sought
And when it came, it stayed briefly.
