A Better Poet Poem by Anurag Talukdar

A Better Poet

When I hear you speak, you remind of the hope that still exists. When I see you smile, you make me believe in the eternal bliss. You are too naïve, I wish I can be your armour and be your shield.

But you never gave me the chance, no matter how hard I tried. I reasoned and I cried, but you turned deaf to all my pleas.

I, however, forgive you, for all the pains I had to endure, for all the humiliations I had to swallow, for all the pride I had to shed. I forgive you, for devouring my soul and crushing my heart.

Above all, I forgive you, for your indifference has made me a better bard!
