A Battle Worth Fighting Poem by Jessica Gabanyic

A Battle Worth Fighting

I've stumbled through the dark,
Trying to grasp at a reality
That didn't want to be found,
Lost and alone without a light,
Fear has settled in,

I stumbled through the dark,
Fighting the demons of my past,
I was defeated,
Alone with my own self-hate,
the cuts and bruises,
The only sign of a tortured soul,

I was lost within myself,
Unable to see the light at the end,
I was lost in the forest of Self-destruction,
But peace found me in the end,
the battle now won,
I've come out triumphantly,
With my head held high
