My cousin’s pet tortoise was lonely
And looking a little unwell
So we found him a young lady tortoise
The man in the shop called Michelle
The first time they met munching lettuce
His tortoise was acting so coy
Michelle started nudging her suitor
To try and awaken the boy
Her nudging did not really rouse him
Until the last leaf had been eaten
Then he found a dark corner for snoozing
Michelle felt dejected and beaten
In anger she charged at the sleeper
He woke in a bit of a muddle
Alone once again sick and dizzy
Where he spun upside down in a puddle
