323 Poem by RIC BASTASA

323

some travel far and wide
sailing the oceans
flying the skies
from edge to edge
shore to shore
to find the meaning
of their lives

some just stay
and listen
and be so silent
listening to
the beatings of their hearts
and find something
steady inside
a flame
alive

and they say
they found
themselves
there

without even using
any word
or even
a sigh

because
there is nothing there to see and speak
