.3. Shadow Boxing Poem by David Threadgold

.3. Shadow Boxing

Rating: 5.0

Flashing lights and neon signs
Pollute the darkest night
By lighting up the cubby holes
Where shadows go to fight

Light robs them of their hiding
They shrink to smaller size
Please flick the switch and turn them off
Shadows think that’s wise

They don’t mind simple street lamps
Or moving car headlights
But please don’t put the big ones on
It spoils the shadow fights

My shadow punched me the other night, so I decided to turn off the light. I thought it liked me, but soon I found. My shadow was just playing with me, just kidding around! I loved your poem! Linda
