Center stage
within a Roman Colosseum in Croatia,
2Cellos bōw their taut strings
from familiar repertoire
into cords of new vibration.

The ancient stone wall that surrounds
their sound
with story and remains
cannot contain
their instrumental innovation.

One cellist keeps his quickening beat
the other croons his lyrical tune
as melody swoons, enraptured,
and rhythm’s keenly captured
in a synergy-sensation –

then they cross
and cross again
in a musical double helix
that spirals to Ovation!
