173. Seed Poem by Jaden Knight

173. Seed

You let it grow
started to sprout
took on water
though it was just a seed

Became too big for you to handle
tried to dig it up
no chance of success
the roots were too far deep

The flowers were the greatest part
but you never could appreciate the stems
the leaves were barely tolerated
sporting ragged edges

In time you will rip up those stems
and leave the petals on the heap
the roots you can't pull out
they will have grown too deep

So now the plant has been destroyed
along with the love that helped it grow
the roots have since rotted away
leaving on the memories

What's this about? Is ithis about allowing a weed to flourish and destroying it after appreciating its glories, fair enough or is this about allowing a one sided relationship to grow just for the benefits before destroying it, cruel but it happens. The former is an inconsequential gardening act but the latter is the callous misuse of another by one who seems oblivious of a any pain caused except to themselves. Not sure what to make of make of this one.
