17 Of June Poem by Bjorn Visser

17 Of June

The night time comes.
its ever-glowing darkness covers the tears on my cheeks.
the bustling of passers by. un-aware of my fate smile and talk as they slip over the black paved river.

the date on my grave reads
16 January 1992 – 17 June 2008
A death a night.
Freedom, my final fight.

A faint whisper escapes me.
“im sorry” I pray.
The night and its everlasting glow wraps me up.
surrounds me.
finally, the night drowns me.

A tablet I question..
an answer. I got none.
the darkness is glowing
my time is now gone.

In search of reality, the final breath answers all.
a dead man tells no lie, with each breath a truth escapes.
until he falls down. the final breath breaks the earth bound liar from the capture of the night.

its beauty not matched by any. the darkness.
the nighttime.
the glowing tear drops rolling down my cheeks.
as I finally let go of this man made peace

the passers by, un-aware.
their smiles bind me to the world.
the passers by. happy and content
I envy their mindless being.
In a time where darkness glowed
it captured me in its ever lasting hold.
no love is shown to the misery set few.

and as I go. two things shall remain.
the whisper of all my truths on the last breath I gave
and a simple date.
16 January 1992 – 17 June 2008

A lover, a hater, a human being.
death to the lonely
and bliss to the peacefully unaware few.
