149. She Meant Everything To Me Poem by Jaden Knight

She meant everything to me
at least that’s what I thought
that was then and it’s all changed
I can’t get it all back

So much has changed since 2008
when we got together in June
then I thought we could take on the world
now I know it was stupid to try

It was 2010 when she started to act strange
almost barely noticeable at first
but enough for me to see
should have ended it there and then
I guess I cared about her to much
and tried to shut out the truth

2013 and I severed the link
too much had gone on but she refused to adapt
was trying too hard to live a double life
didn’t exactly want to swing the axe
but was never given a proper reason not to
as too many rules were broken

She used to mean everything to me
now she’s just part of the past
I can’t make everything go back
to it how it was in the golden year of 09
and we both know it to be true

She meant everything to me
at least that’s what I thought
that was how it was back then
now it’s all changed
