0360 Ouch Poem by Michael Shepherd

0360 Ouch

Rating: 1.9

There are times when
opening the Hallmark card
sent no doubt in good faith,
the banal cliche of a worn truism
expressed in groansome verse

opens one eye,
yawns,
stretches,
gathers itself
wearily
like its alarm just went off
and it's time for work

and lands you one
hard, right on the nose
ouch

I think it's called
humility
