031: What's In A Name? Poem by Colin Johnston

031: What's In A Name?

<font color=magenta>Different stories he'll be told
Depending by whose side he sits.
Fact and fiction will unwind
If he only gives it time.

His Mum has changed his name to hers
Although Christened he had been
From his Dads to Hers he went
Without any notice of intent

By Deed Poll on her part
She, in seconds, broke my Heart
For every time that He's with us
He repeats his name is 'thus'
And even though his Father tells him
Indoctrination's there for all to see

Given Time when he's a Man
And finally comes to understand
"What is really in a Name"
Will He then begin to see
The hurt that this has done to me.
