? ? ? ? ? ? Poem by Raymond Farrell

When the sun comes
And the rain falls
In a timely fashion
The corn grows high
The garden produces an abundance
Until the larder
Is bursting at the seams
Then it's easy
To sing and praise the Lord
But if the hail
Beats the grain into pulp
Or drought prevails
Drying the ground
Until it cracks, shrivels
And the topsoil blows away
Then all crops fail
The pantry shelves are barren
And the bills start to pile up
Then do we still have the faith
To trust God
And to sing and praise the Lord?
