I agree, it is suffering and desperation that changes a person into a terrorist. Our society will have to change fundamentally to accommodate the poor, otherwise acts of terrorism will proliferate - and the prison system will keep churning out new terrorists all the time. A thought-provoking write, thank you so much.

  • POEM: A Slight Possession by Patti Masterman (1/30/2015 6:06:00 AM)

This is amazing - I love the image if the nun inside you, the wonderful part of your soul that would be unprotected if revealed to a cold world and I can associate with this idea as the cathedral of my mind also contains reverent silence and incense - yet this is but an aspect of the whole me - excellent poetry...

  • POEM: Blue Stone Girl by Patti Masterman (1/30/2015 2:11:00 AM)

Patti Masterman writes masterly - I'm overcome when reading her poems. Her lines have meaning on several levels - like here, she describes the Blue Stone Girl then indicates that she identifies herself with the girl - that the thoughts never spoken aloud is how she got by in her youth, and that she was often lost in wonder - then she says once she was free, once she was me and then the reader knows she was telling us all about herself and not another girl. Excellent work and a joy to read, though it makes me sad. Warmest regards, Marilese
