  • POEM: OUR MIRACLES by Meggie Gultiano (6/7/2009 1:44:00 AM)

a beautiful and evocative poem of hope and light in a world of darkness and despair...

  • POEM: A TIME by Alf Hutchison (6/7/2009 1:41:00 AM)

yes it seems the big blast is on the horizon as Iran continues the provocation and the valley of Armaegeddon is soon to be filled with the rivers of blood....the coordinates already keyed in the computers only waiting for Amhadjinejad's statement that gives the go ahead and Tehran will no longer exist

  • POEM: Daughters on sale! by Ashish Dimri (6/5/2009 5:08:00 AM)

How to Write Great Poetry- The universal dilemma
All good and bad poetry springs from the feelings...there must be more.Carry plenty of napkins...for the verve is yet to come. Move not yourself...but others...Write not of what is seen but of the transparent...Taper the much honey makes even the bee sick...Images must not lay upon pages...but jump out...If you really like your poem...start over... Rhyme, meter, verse, harmony, lyricism, personification, simile, are essential at times yet..develop your own the poetry and converse with poet peers who have something you want...critique's service the esteem yet serve little value in poetic growth...constructive criticism is where the young poet and old find the seeds of creativity and change...asking not is is good...but how could one make it better...

Just wanted to say what a pleasure it has been to become a member of this site...of course in only a few days I have had the honor and pleasure to meet some fellow poets and share feedback on mine and their work....I've had some difficulty finding professional critics...and we all really need this feedback to ascertain the writings we might have for commercial appeal to publish...thanks, , , , countrydoc :))
