He was the only offspring that she ever had
The son she raised without any help from his dad
He had a fast car which he used to drive fast
The car and by far sadder it's owner are now of the past

We cannot feel their grief or know of their mental pain
But from the lives of others some insights we can gain
And we should not judge others till we walk in their shoes
We cannot be good winners if with grace we cannot lose
...

To her 'twill remain a painful memory
Of the only child she had who was lost to the sea
In his prime of life he had turned twenty three
And few as athletic or as healthy as he.
