The bombs have caused death and destruction and the families mourn their dead
But there is hope for the future for better days ahead
When those for peace and World harmony will finally prevail
For those who talk of waging war are surely doomed to fail.

The children are the future of Humanity so teach the children well
And as their teacher your knowledge of Life and Nature to them you ought to tell
And teach them to respect our Mother Earth the one who feeds us all
And in years from now to you they will be grateful when memories of you they will recall.

Tis said of every individual that they can shape their own destiny
Though others will tell you quite differently and with such thinking would not agree
Who knows what will happen tomorrow who knows what your future will bring
Though at present you feel a bit ordinary and none other your praises do sing.

What the future holds for us we are not to know
But our past it goes with us to where-ever we go
Your best years in life to the forever gone
But your past in your memory it is living on

I've had a good innings time has left me gray
The future belongs to the youth of today
Allow them their passion for time hurries by
As life is for to live well and for to enjoy,

The World energy resources depleted and the oil wells are running dry
And perhaps in a decade from now the super rich will become poorer when they realize their money cannot buy
Gas to put into their big cars parked in their garages the people with nowhere to go
To yet it is a known fact out of hardship that spirituality can grow.

The future it surely is the great unknown
And the seeds of it by some in the present sown
Even in tough financial times many survive somehow
The best you can do is make the most of the now

As some people do grow older with hair dye they cloak their gray
And with anti aging creams they smooth away the wrinkles of time's decay
But pride does not keep them living one day longer time on them does tick away
And those who will be humanity's future are the children of today

The man of the future the babe of today
That's how it is and it has always been this way
When one generation is ageing one is in their prime
And the hands keep on turning of old father time

Any credibility that they've had they never can win back
The leaders of the so called Coalition of the Willing who ordered the invasion of Iraq
The deaths and sufferings their war has brought about is to their eternal shame
But these arrogant ageing males for their mistakes do not accept any blame,

I know where i was born at but i don't know where I'll die
And if i told you i cared then that would be a lie
For the dead past all feeling they have had their day
Live for as long as you can as a wise one did say,

They may not be seen as the people of the now or held in general high esteem
But great thinkers say for the years ahead they have got what it takes it does seem
The artists and writers in the coming times are destined to take pride of place
For all people they are the most likely 'twould seem of the challenge of change to embrace

Of hopes for our future why should we despair
As long as our lungs breathe in life giving air
Of happiness and prosperity all hopes cannot be gone
As long as the will is still there for to keep keeping on.

Of heroes and heroines the stories are written and of them songs and ballads are sung
But they have grown old tired and weary and the future belong to the young
Their best years forever behind them those who have lived past their life's prime
Their children the hope of the future no holding back the hands of time

The lust for power, wealth and fame is an addictive thing
And the praises of the wealthy and the famous their admirers do sing
But what chance of success and wealth and renown
For one who is born on the poor side of the town

In future times there will not be war like people aggressive people will be of the past
the glorification of war which has gone on for centuries is something that is not destined to last
The peaceful people they will be the rulers and there will be a time of World harmony
Of the dark energy of those who divide and conquer some future generation will live free,

The future is the children's and I am of the past
And I too had my young years but nothing ever last
On looking back the Seasons how quickly the years have gone
Old age is fast approaching and the clock ticks on and on.

Frail old blokes may boast of their conquests and songs of war heroes are sung
But the future is really what matters and the future belong to the young,
Some men they grow old though not wiser and no fool like an old fool they say
Why bore me with stories of your past glories we'll drink to the men of today.

I not unlike many others tend to remember the past
And say back then how times were better and the good days do not last
Always thinking of long dead years and dreading to look ahead
And what I'm writing of this instant by so many has been said.

I do not feel sad that my better days are behind me and I do not wish for to be young again
But I'll make the most of what time I am granted and my only wish that good health with me remain
Until the reaper on me pays a visit the reaper whom so many seem to dread
It would be nice to go to sleep one evening and die a painless death in one's own bed.

I hear the funeral dirge, the church bell chime
And the ship it takes me off to next lifetime
And I can hear the sobs of grieving wife
But she will join me in another life.

We may have great plans for the future but the future seems so far away
And we only can live in the present tomorrow is another day
The future's not ours to look into I once heard a wise woman say
And the sooner the rose comes into bloom the sooner 'twill fade to decay.
