Hi everyone.I am looking forward to sharing wonderful words, silly songs, pity poems, tall tales and interesting ideas.I am a very silly person.I do not like anything sad, so I guess I already lied.I do have an open mind, and I am well aware of sad things, I hear sad news, hear sad songs, and I see so many sad people. And I will listen with empathy, always. But I do not like sad.The poems I write are usually weird.I write poems about ordinary items or movements.I like to rhyme my words so they sound silly. Here is a sample. Sitting here in a chair it knows about my underwear. That's okay, but when I go.There's no one else that needs to know.

My name is Joycelyn Mullins, everyone calls me Joy. I've been writing poetry since I was a child. Here is a sample:
Guard Your Heart
When it comes to matters of the heart
Sometimes the pain has no limit
and it just...
To know how another heart truly feels is like asking God " When will I die?" or " When will your Son return?"
It's a mystery it seems, you'll never truly know
Be careful what you put in your heart, it makes up who you are and what you'll become
I beg of you, guard your heart like a newborn baby among wolves and like a dying animal in the prescence of vultures

My name is Joey Jones. I am at best an armature poet. I recently started writing again after taking 20 years off from it. I have no accolades or degrees in literature just a simple poet and special education teacher. Since October of this year and the passing of a good friend I have spent most of me free time reading and writing poetry. I began posting and reading at a different website but it was riddled with bugs and didn't work half the time. I recently found poemhunter and think I may have found a new home. I may write about anything and everything here is one of my rhymed poems though, I don't always write rhymed it was a fun one to write. I often write in formed poetry or free verse. I am not perfect with my grammar and occasionally misspell a word. Feel free to message me with a critique or of you need something that I can help with let me know. My page is:
I am the eclipse that makes you blind,
a dark shadow cast upon your mind.
As you try to escape into the light
I'll serve as a reminder of the night
I am the scent of your blooms decay
a putrid aroma from your lost bouquet.
As from my dreadful stench you bolt
I'll engulf your being until you revolt
I am the bitter you find in your sweet,
an aftertaste from your spoiled meat.
As you glutton on to much to chew,
I'll feed you more of my wretched stew.
I am the timbre of your screams,
a sound echoed from your dreams.
As you try to escape with your soul,
I'll be the melody of your bell's toll.
I am the agony that you must feel,
the pain letting you know it was real.
If you think this fiend you have met
you have, for I am your life's regret

Hi Joey :) this was a wonderful poem! I enjoyed reading it :) all I say is perhaps you adjust some of the lines a little so they have more rhythm, and it will be pure perfection: D -Wu

It's recently that I started posting here. Just read my poems and tell me how I can imrove them.
A Little Prospect
I was here to let my emotion go out
Through the the pipe of poetry art
So, I started hitting the keyboard
But, as reluctant was my mind,
Nothing happened except a little prospect.

To Live Is To Love
To love is to live
For those who believe
That all come from Grace.
In Love souls have bathed.
Believe now in His Love,
Reminders of His Presence,
All around us,
Kindness, blessings, healing, pensive
Arranged from Love, to live.
Only divine Providences,
Love looks after, seeks, sought
To be found in your hearts,
Some full of Him; for some, void of Him.
Recognize Love for each moment
Hung in fragile details of sentiment.
Live with Love, for Love, your perfect complement.
Call out for Love;
Cry out for Love,
Heart flooded with tender romance,
All six senses reserved by a whole human.
Yearn for Love to be heard;
Love radiates, Love sustains, love propagates.
Never sever such gentle sweet bond;
Preserve it with each caring thought;
Every minute, no need to defend, no need for regrets
Nor fear but simply live Love
Or let Love live.

My name is Don Nguyen. My poet's webpage is http:// www.poemhunter.com/don-nguyen
I am not a poet simply because my writings cannot be considered standard poems but expressive contemplations from my heart to Jesus Christ my Lord. They are fragmented thoughts and feelings, as a whole, they can be considered a lover letter with many pages which are written almost daily.
You are encouraged to read my inner expressions and many thanks.

I am a shiver
Down your spine
I am nobody
Nobody is mine
I am a feeling
You once had
A long forgotten song
That you can not replay
I told you right from wrong
No I've gone my way
I remember you
You lit my flame
You let it burn
My name is love
I will return

I'm James Kastner. I have a BA in English and an MA in Creative Writing from Iowa State University. I taught at Des Moines Area Community college, primarily Compostion, Creative Writing, Literatrure and Film Studies, but also occasionally taught a psychology class. My creative thesis project was a collection of poems titled " Round Trip" which I recently ran across on line. Looking over the poems, it seemed to me that about half to a thrid of them still held up, but the rest were not so good. They were written over thirty years ago, so that's not surprising. In college I was awarded the Peral Hogreffe Grant in Aid for Promising Creative Writers, numerous focus awards, and was regularly published in the college's fine arts magazine. I've published a couple of poems (this was all before the internet when anyone can be " published" ;) and a short story. I continued to write regularly for about ten years after leaving college, but then marriage, children, and supporting a family kind of drew me away from it. Rediscovering my old collection of poems, awakened something in me which has been dormant for a long time...my love of poetry and the inklings of the urge to write again.
