    Prole Laureate 2015 Annual Poetry Writing Competition

    Closing date: 31st January,2015.
    Prizes: The winner will receive £200 and publication in Prole 16, due out in April 2015; There are two runners up prizes of £50 each and possible publication in Prole 16. The winner and runners up will be showcased on our website. Prizes are paid by PayPal.
    Entry fee: £3.00 for first entry, £2.00 for subsequent entries. Email your entry, including the text and PayPal transaction number within the body of the email, to: poetrycompetition@prolebooks.co.uk
    All work must be the original work of the submitting author and be previously unpublished. (If your poem has been up on a personal blog or similar, it's fine to submit, so long as it is removed first.)

    Bronte Society Creative Competition

    Closing date: 31st January,2015.
    Prizes: each category, £500, £250 and £100.
    Entry fee: £10.
    For poetry, fiction, and illustration inspired by the Brontes. Short story: a new story featuring a minor character from one of the Bronte novels, up to 3,000 words.
    Poetry: a poem in any style offering a new perspective on one of the novels, up to 50 lines.
    Illustration: up to four scenes from one of the Bronte novels, in black and white.

    British Haiku Awards

    Closing date: 31st January,2015.
    Prizes: £125 for two winning haiku, £50 for two runners-up; £125 for one winning tanka, £50 for runner-up, £100 for one winning haibun.
    Publication in the May issue of Blithe Spirit.

    Entry fee: £5 ($8) for up to three haiku or tanka, £1 ($1) thereafter; £5 ($8) per haibun.

    Closing date: 17th January,2015.
    Prizes: up to £40,000 in awards.
    Free entry.
    For works in progress by new writers in Yorkshire, the North East and North West. whether poetry, prose, children's prose, biography, life writing, or literary non-fiction.

    JBWB Poetry and Short Story Competitions

    Envoi International Open Poetry Competitions

    Deadline for submissions – 20th February,20th June and 20th October each year.

    The Poetry Kit Poetry Competition

    Prizes: The prize is publication on the front page of Poetry Kit where it will be seen by the 10 thousand visitors we have each day, there will also be a few other goodies to show our thanks, but no cash prize.     Prizes: Writing Contest First Prize is $500. Second Prize: $250. Third Prize: $100.

    Prizes: £150, £75, £50, three £10 Highly Commendeds in both categories
