    Two prizes of $5,500 each and publication by a participating press are given annually for a poetry collection and a short story collection. In addition, two prizes of $2,500 each and publication by a participating press are given annually for a novel and a book of creative nonfiction. For the Donald Hall Prize in Poetry, submit a manuscript of at least 48 pages; Crystal Williams will judge, and University of Pittsburgh Press will publish the winning collection. For the Grace Paley Prize in Short Fiction, submit a manuscript of 150 to 300 pages; Nahid Rachlin will judge, and University of Massachusetts Press will be the publisher. For the AWP Prize for the Novel, submit a manuscript of at least 60,000 words; Paul Harding will judge, and New Issues Poetry & Prose will be the publisher. For the AWP Prize for Creative Nonfiction, submit a manuscript of 150 to 300 pages; Lia Purpura will judge, and University of Georgia Press will be the publisher. The entry fee for each award is $30 ($20 for AWP members) . Using the online submission system, submit manuscripts between January 1 and February 28.     Writing Awards

    Up to five awards of $6,000 each and up to five Promise Awards of $2,000 each are given twice yearly to poets, fiction writers, and creative nonfiction writers with children. Writers with at least one child under the age of 18 are eligible.     Raiziss/de Palchi Fellowship Award

    A fellowship of $25,000 and a five-week residency at the American Academy in Rome is given biennially to a U.S. translator for a work-in-progress of modern Italian poetry translated into English. Adria Bernardi, Luigi Fontanella, and Giuseppe Leporace will judge. Translators may submit four copies of 15 pages of translated poetry, the original poems, and an application of up to five pages describing the work-in-progress, the translator's credentials, and the fellowship project proposal by February 15.     International Writers Project Fellowship

    A fellowship, including a stipend of $45,000, is given annually to an established international poet or fiction writer " who is unable to practice free expression in his or her homeland." The fellowship provides funds for relocation to the United States, living expenses, and an office on the Brown University campus for ten months. Writers or individuals seeking to nominate a writer may submit at least 10 pages of poetry or prose along with English translations, a case history showing a record of need, a publishing history, a résumé, and two letters of support by February 15.     A prize of $1,000 is given annually to a U.S. citizen for a translation of a book of poetry from any language into English published in the United States during the previous year. Collaborations by two translators are eligible, but anthologies of work by more than two translators are not. Bill Johnston will judge.
