    Four Counties Poetry Competition

    Closing Date: 30th January 2015

    Details:
    Rottingdean Writers' Group announces the first competition specially designed for poets connected to London, Kent, Surrey and Sussex. The judge is John McCullough, academic and prize-winning author of The Frost Fairs. Three major cash prizes and discretionary honorary awards will be presented at a ceremony on 25 February 2015: £750, sponsored by Wellesley Wealth Advisory, £250, sponsored by The English Language Centre, £100, sponsored by Chalk Gallery, Lewes.
    Entry Fee: £5 for one poem, £10 for two or £12 for three poems. The fee for each additional poem after that is £4.

    Torriano Poetry Competition 2015

    Adjudicated by Martyn Crucefix. Unpublished poems of up to 40 lines. First Prize £250, Second Prize £150, Third Prize £75. Winning poets will be offered featured readings at the adjudication celebration on 12th April,2015.
    Entry Fee: £3 one poem, £5 for two, £10 for five

    Writers at Work
    Fellowship Competition

    Three prizes of $1,000 each are given annually for a group of poems, a short story or a novel excerpt, and an essay. The winners will also be published in Quarterly West and will receive tuition to attend the Writers at Work Conference in Salt Lake City in June. Writers who have not published a book in the genre in which they are applying are eligible. Alison H. Deming will judge in poetry, Ann Hood will judge in fiction, and Judith Barrington will judge in nonfiction. The prizes are given twice yearly for works that are previously unpublished or that were published in a journal with a circulation of less than 5,000. Submit up to three poems totaling no more than five pages, a work of fiction or creative nonfiction of up to 6,000 words, or a work of short short fiction of up to 1,000 words with a $20 entry fee, which includes a copy of the awards issue, by January 31.
