    A prize of £30,000 (approximately $49,473) is given annually for a book of poetry or fiction published in the preceding year that " displays creative, imaginative, and innovative use of the English language" by a writer under 39. Publishers may submit three copies of a book published between June 1,2013, and September 1,2014, by May 30. There is no entry fee.     Three prizes of $10,000 each are given annually to U.S. writers to honor books of poetry, fiction, and nonfiction (including creative nonfiction) published in the United States during the current year. For books published between January 1 and June 15, submit four copies of the book, an author biography and photograph, and a $50 entry fee by June 14.     Two prizes of £5,000 (approximately $8,354) each and publication in the Bridport Prize anthology are given annually for a poem and a short story. A second-place prize of £1,000 (approximately $1,690) and publication is given in each category. A prize of £1,000 (approximately $1,690) and publication is also given for a work of flash fiction. Liz Lochhead will judge in poetry, Andrew Miller will judge in fiction, and Tania Hershman will judge in flash fiction. Submit a poem of up to 42 lines, a story of up to 5,000 words, or a short short story of up to 250 words by May 31. The entry fee is £8 (approximately $13) for poetry, £9 (approximately $15) for fiction, and £7 (approximately $12) for flash fiction.     A prize of $2,500 and publication of an excerpt in Scandinavian Review is given annually for an English translation of a Danish, Finnish, Icelandic, Norwegian, or Swedish work of poetry, fiction, or creative nonfiction. In addition, a prize of $2,000 and publication is awarded to a translator whose literary translations have not previously been published. Translations of works by Scandinavian authors born after 1800 that have not been published in English are eligible. Submit up to 25 pages of poetry or 50 pages of prose, one copy of the original work, and a curriculum vitae by June 1. There is no entry fee.     A prize of $3,000 and an all-expenses-paid trip to the Writer's Digest Conference in August in New York City to meet with editors and agents is given annually for a poem, a short story, or an essay. Prizes of $1,000 each are also given for a work in each genre. Submit a poem of up to 32 lines, a story of up to 4,000 words, or an essay of up to 2,000 words by June 3. The entry fee for poetry is $15 ($10 for each additional poem) before May 5, and $20 thereafter. The entry fee for prose is $25 ($20 for each additional entry) before May 5, and $30 thereafter.     All Wales Comic Verse Competition 2014
