    Guggenheim Fellowships of approx- imately $50,000 each are awarded annually to poets, fiction writers, and creative nonfiction writers on the basis of achievement and exceptional promise. Residents of the United States and Canada are eligible. Using the online submission system, submit a career summary, a list of publications, contact information for up to four references, and a statement of intent by September 19.     Philip Levine Prize in Poetry

    A prize of $2,000, publication by Anhinga Press, and 25 author copies is given annually for a poetry collection. Peter Everwine will judge. Submit a manuscript of 48 to 80 pages with a $25 entry fee by September 30. Call, e-mail, or visit the website for complete guidelines.

    Berlin Prize Fellowships

    Approximately 24 residential fellowships are given annually to emerging poets, fiction writers, and creative nonfiction writers to spend an academic semester in residence at the Hans Arnhold Center at the American Academy in Berlin. Fellows also receive a $5,000 monthly stipend, lodging, and round-trip airfare. Writers based in the United States who have published at least one book in any genre are eligible. Submit two writing samples totaling no more than 60 pages, a project proposal of five to seven pages, a curriculum vitae, and three letters of recommendation (sent directly to the Academy by the references) by September 29.     Cullman Center Fellowships
    Deadline:
    Up to 15 fellowships will be given annually to poets, fiction writers, and creative nonfiction writers whose work will benefit directly from access to the research collections at the New York Public Library. The fellows will each receive $70,000, an office at the Cullman Center, and full access to the New York Public Library's main branch, the Stephen A. Schwarzman Building in midtown Manhattan, from September 2015 through May 2016. Fellows will be required to work on their projects at the Cullman Center for the duration of the fellowship and give a public talk. Using the online submission system, submit a writing sample of up to 4,500 words, a project proposal of up to 1,500 words, a curriculum vitae, and three letters of recommendation (submitted directly by the references through the online submission system) , by September 26.     Geoff Stevens Memorial Poetry Prize 2014

    Submission: Selection of 10 poems to 36 lines max. Two winners will have a 52 page poetry collection published by Indigo Dreams Publishing and receive 25 copies. Publication (to coincide with Geoff's birth date) June 4th 2015. All entries must be accompanied by cheque to correct amount made payable to 'IDP' or via PayPal.

    Black Country Living Museum Annual Poetry Competition 2014: Conflict & Contemplation

    Closing Date: 27th September 2014

    Details:
    Theme: 'Conflict & Contemplation', a topic inspired by the story of the Black Country and informed by the Centenary of the outbreak of World War One. Judges: Dave Reeves, last years winners Roz Goddard and Mel Weatherly, Head of Learning at the Black Country Living Museum. First prize includes £100 and publication in an anthology. Two runners-up receive cash prizes, publication and more. Entrants should be aged 19 and over.

    Skipton Library Poetry Competition

    For poems of up to 40 lines on any subject.1st prize £100,2nd prize £50,3rd prize £25,5 prizes £10 each,5 Hight commended. Adjudicator Isobel Thrilling and one other to be appointed. Poem to be typed on single sheet of A4 in single spacing, enclose separate sheet with your contact details, name, address, email, telephone number.
