    A prize of £3,000 (approximately $4,713) is given annually for a book of poetry or fiction translated from Arabic into English and published for the first time in English during the previous year. Translations of Arabic works of poetry or fiction originally published during or after 1967 are eligible. Publishers may submit five copies of a book published between April 1,2014, and March 31,2015, with three copies of the original work by February 28. There is no entry fee.     An academic year in residence, which includes a stipend of $30,000, at the University of Wisconsin in Madison is given annually to up to five writers working on a first or second book of poetry or fiction. Fellows teach one workshop in creative writing each semester and give one public reading. Writers with an MFA or PhD in creative writing who have not published more than one book are eligible. Using the online submission system, submit 10 pages of poetry or one story or novel excerpt of up to 30 pages, a curriculum vitae, and contact information for two references with a $50 entry fee between January 1 and February 28.     Two prizes of $5,500 each and publication by a participating press are given annually for a poetry collection and a short story collection. In addition, two prizes of $2,500 each and publication by a participating press are given annually for a novel and a book of creative nonfiction. For the Donald Hall Prize in Poetry, submit a manuscript of at least 48 pages; Crystal Williams will judge, and University of Pittsburgh Press will publish the winning collection. For the Grace Paley Prize in Short Fiction, submit a manuscript of 150 to 300 pages; Nahid Rachlin will judge, and University of Massachusetts Press will be the publisher. For the AWP Prize for the Novel, submit a manuscript of at least 60,000 words; Paul Harding will judge, and New Issues Poetry & Prose will be the publisher.     Up to five awards of $6,000 each and up to five Promise Awards of $2,000 each are given twice yearly to poets, fiction writers, and creative nonfiction writers with children. Writers with at least one child under the age of 18 are eligible.     The Fresher Writing Prize 2015

    Closing date: 8th March,2015.
    Prizes: These are designed to help new writers get their work more widely recognized and include: a one-to-one with a top literary agent; personal advice on taking your own book to market; a professional podcast and a rehearsed reading of your script. Plus a free theatre pass; book vouchers and more! The final shortlist will see their entries published in the Fresher Writing 2015 anthology, and will be special guests at the book's launch and Fresher Writing Awards, held in Bournemouth at the end of May.
    Entry fee: £5 per entry.
    There are various categories to enter, from the short story to poetry and scriptwriting to creative non-fiction. Every entry will be carefully assessed by the judging panel, and the final decisions will be made by influential figures from the publishing world, including Gemma Rostill from Penguin, literary agent Madeleine Milburn, author Claire Fuller and publishing consultant Ed Peppit.
