Memento Exultate Poem by Josh Mitteldorf

Memento Exultate

Though eager gusts avail, but yet
This tight-furled sail I don't deploy;
As all too often I forget—
To welcome proffered joy.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
It's not always possible for me to feel joyous. But what I'm interested in are those times when it IS possible but I don't let it in. Like being on a sailboat in a robust breeze and not opening the sails.
