Yasuaki Inoue's Japanese Haiku In Hindu/Urdu Translation

mere bageechay main
jalti hue pattoN ki chitta
chamak rehi hai dhoop ki roshni main

*

bharmaar patjaD main
ek bachchi ro rehi hai
bhayankar aag jaisay

*

neeli aankhon wala bakra
sardi main seengh jhuka raha hai
aasman par us ko shaq hai

*

murday k chehray k make-up ki tarah
aaj khoob sardi paD rehi hai
sardi shud safed hai

*

dheeray dheeray baraf main jamay
kadam laitay huay, nangi chataan par
jaDay ka mausum aa reha hai

***

Versions of Yasuaki Inoue's Haiku
TRANSLATED BY KATRINA NAOMI

Pyres of leaves burning
once again in my garden
blazing in the sun

*

In the abundance
of autumn a baby cries
like a giant fire

*

Blue-eyed billy goat
tilting his horns suspicious
of the winter sky

*

Today it is cold
like a dead person's make-up
the cold is pure white

*

Step by frozen step
winter comes creeping towards
the naked rock's skin
