Work Forgotten

We spend so much of our lives
Doing tasks for others we strive
We try to do our best to serve help, all
But inevitably sometimes things fall
For years you try to do simply your best
Working stupid hours when you need to rest
Sometimes only getting a few hrs sleep
Keeping on while inside does weep
A chance delay of only half a day
Emergency treatment meant I was away
They moaned and did jump up and down
Complaining muttering oh they did frown
Amazing how quickly they forget
The times we helped, yet it I won't regret.
