When I Gathered Myself Together Poem by Preena Mathew

When I Gathered Myself Together

When I gathered myself together,
I felt it was the best thing to do.
Not expecting anything out of the blue;
It's being anything but true.

True to myself-
I tried what's best I can find.
I try to see my strengths as I rewind,
When I gathered myself together.
Gaps here, flaw there!
There's a story in every person
A story that builds and cements:
It makes you think and reason-
Its not fair to judge some other.
When I gathered myself together

I had to pause for sometime to care-
Care to see what my mind would say:
One who tries hard is here to stay.
Stay on the moment,
Cast aside those doubts.
There's no time to sit and lament,
Cast aside so many emotions that pound!
Yes, it comes with fruits so profound,
When I gathered myself together,
When I gathered myself together.
