What I Miss

I may never be the lover
You hope for
My youth may pass me by

I would hurt to fail you
My heart would break
Tears of sorrow I would cry

I may never make you feel
The care for which you yearn
But I know I would try

All of love is a mystery
We may never understand
But yet I miss what I have missed

To know your smile, your kiss
The bliss and tenderness
To feel you near and hold your hand
