a personal story? of you and? am i being too nosy? OR is it totally made up, or a story from what you've heard of others? any way, it is a strong portrayal of 'used to be love' and the feelings and actions it MAY cause. of course when one of my (many) marriages has 'lost it', i just walk out to a busy intersection and call out NEXT! sorry; i couldn't resist it. i especially liked your lines: You lie down when Im asleep. On the edge I lie in fear. I ask are you ok. You walk away to miss my tears.......... .........thanks for sharing. to MyPoemList i'll send it. how are you these days? i hope you are well. bri :)
'In our silence we are lost. Deep down my heart can see. Our love is broken now. Our love is used to be.' - Desolate feelings, deep emotions. Very touchy!
This is such a sad poem, it's really desolate. The format is a parody of the conversation not occurring. Becuse alternating lines express first the speaker's feeling or words, and then the next expresses the silence or actual rejection by the man. And we know no matter how long the woman keeps pursuing this, NOTHING WILL CHANGE. This is so real it causes bleeding. Im remindd of the opening 12 minutes of THE ECLIPSE a film by Antonioni in complete silence two people get dressed and leave an apartment. There's nothing left to build on.
So very sad. I'm in this very place having lost my love. A great poem.
the cold and lonely reality of the bitter broken state of life; very well done.
.. a realism of Truth, the wisdom of the realm of what is the essence of LOVE. my heart lure me to find the past of what is better for today, such a wonderful food for every poet to find the relationship of the lips and the tongue of literature. thanks and God bless. a 10/10
