Unquenchable Heat Poem by Minerva Agriam

Unquenchable Heat

Oh! Unquenchable heat!
I am amazed of how much a little heart
Can affect the wholeness of human beings!
This goes beyond control
And attcks when least expected.
Sending me towards great amazements!
Liken a trance had taken hold of me,
And my gaze followed the invisible winds
To the wilderness! I can't think!
Everything had become obscured!
Feeling the bugly butterflies
Frothing to and fro inside my breast!

Oh, unquenchable heat!
Why can't I get enough of you?
Oh trance of a queer bird,
How many winds had you counted?
Beez buzzing, movements;
Birds singing, lullabies!
But you oh, queer one
Stared and gazed into nothingness!
Happy is the half moon, sad is the lonely broom.
Sleeping cat, staring sun, blitzing thunder;
And everyone! Whatever comes just fine.

But you oh, unquenchable heat,
Why can't I get enough of you?
