Truth Versus Lie

I am Truth and I am bitter
No one likes to hear me
I am what I am
Plain and simple
No guiles or wiles to win my stance
Courage is what makes me
And it would take a lot to kill me
People if you use me
Have the heart to standby me
Not like a pennant
Swing this way or that
Be the rock of Gibraltar and weather the storms

I am a Lie
So easy to roll on the tongue
I am not what I appear to be
Am Complicated and dark
Deceit or artifice always with me
Helping me cheat life
People I am happy you use me
Who cares what is the outcome long term
I give you now what you seek
Without a damn to hurts I inflict

The battle continues
Truth versus Lies
Who wins is for each one of us to decide
